NetEnt inks supply deal with Svenska Spel
Premium supplier of digitally distributed gaming systems, NetEnt, has agreed a deal with Svenska Spel’s iGaming subsidiary (Svenska Spel Sport & Casino AB) that will see it supply the operator with a broad range of its premium online casino games. The titles will launch with the operator when Sweden’s re-regulated market opens on the 1st of January 2019.
Qualification process:
According to the official press release, the Stockholm-listed casino games developer was chosen as a partner of Svenska Spel Sport & Casino AB following what NetEnt calls a “thorough qualification process.”
The agreement comes on the heels of the supplier’s deal with Swedish horse racing operator AB Trav och Galopp (ATG), which was inked earlier this month.
New regulated iGaming market:
New legislation ratified by the Swedish parliament, Riksdagen, on June 7, is due to introduce a regulated iGaming market to Scandinavia’s most populated nation from January 1, 2019. NetEnt has stated that together with its partners it intends to be ready to operate from the first day this sector opens.
MD and Head of Business Unit for Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, Fredrik Wastenson explained, ”NetEnt was an obvious choice when selecting an online casino supplier ahead of our re-regulated market entry on January 1st, 2019. We are convinced that NetEnt will deliver casino games of the highest quality and become a very important partner for us.”
For its part, MD NetEnt Malta Ltd. and Chief Product Officer for NetEnt, Henrik Fagerlund, commented, “I am very pleased that Svenska Spel has selected NetEnt as supplier ahead of the Swedish market re-regulation. Svenska Spel is the most established gambling operator and the largest sponsor of sports in Sweden. We really look forward to a close collaboration to deliver best-in-class digital casino games to Svenska Spel’s customers.”
The expected commercial launch of the developer’s online games with Svenska Spel is early next year, according to the press release.
NetEnt just recently launched a double dose of trick or treat, with horror-themed Halloween Jack and the Middle Eastern and mystical Wild Bazaar.
